What is NEET UG 2026?

NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) is India’s only national-level medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the mandatory gateway for admission into MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and B.Sc. Nursing courses across all medical colleges in India, including AIIMS and JIPMER.

Over 20 lakh students are expected to appear for NEET UG 2026, making it one of the most competitive exams in the world. The exam tests students on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from Class 11 and 12.

NEET UG 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals can apply.

Age: Minimum 17 years as on 31 December 2026. No upper age limit.

Academic Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English from a recognised board.

How to Apply for NEET UG 2026

All applications are done online at neet.nta.nic.in. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit neet.nta.nic.in and click “New Registration”
  2. Register with your email ID and mobile number
  3. Fill the application form with personal and academic details
  4. Upload your photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression (JPG format only)
  5. Pay the application fee online
  6. Submit and download the confirmation page

Admit Card

The NEET UG 2026 Admit Card was released on 26 April 2026. To download:

  1. Go to neet.nta.nic.in
  2. Click “Download Admit Card”
  3. Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin
  4. Download and print the admit card

Without the admit card, entry to the exam hall will not be allowed.

Result & Counselling

Result will be declared in June 2026 on neet.nta.nic.in. The scorecard will show total marks, subject-wise marks, percentile, All India Rank (AIR), and qualifying status.

Counselling for 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by MCC at mcc.nic.in. State quota seats (85%) are managed by respective state authorities.
